Some people are aware, while others may suspect…but more and
more people are finding out about John Ludy Puleo’s vocal talent
and ultimate passion. Even John’s earliest memories are filled with the sound
of music playing from his parent’s Hi-Fi stereo phonograph
and him singing along at the top of his lungs! His parents love for song and
lyric took hold of John and are deeply rooted in who he is and
how he expresses himself. Early influences of Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin,
Elvis, Tom Jones and Motown greats helped shape his abilities
and channeled his desire to entertain those around him. As his family sang
locally with several music groups during his formative years,
John quickly jumped at opportunities to fill-in for his father’s tenor parts
with lead vocalist Butch Paige and Agnus & the Kids.
John and his sister, Kerri Lynn, fronted the popular 80’s cover band
DoubleTake which played every popular venue between Chicago
& Milwaukee, while John later pursued opportunities with the bands "Take2" and
"The Believers". John and Believers lead guitarist
Billy Protine colaborated with Cesar Kalinowski (Sonic Temple Records) on the
1997 release of the “Comet” CD and he was also
a featured vocalist on the 2000 release of the Scott Modlin/Rex Carrol project
entitled “Moral Control”. John’s love for singing continued
through his leading worship for several years and recently as lead singer for
the classic rock inspired and Lake County, IL based group called
Transformation Band.
In 2009, John decided to rekindle his love for the “standards” by
performing a solo act showcasing the music made popular by Frank Sinatra,
Dean Martin and Tony Bennett while he embraces the cool wave of music coming
from the likes of Michael Buble’, Sting and Harry Connick Jr.
